The Day Walking Group braved the late November weather to discover a great 10-mile across downland near Biggin Hill ably lead by Brenda and Lance. The chalk downland between Biggin Hill and Warlingham is surprisingly excellent walking country with fine views of rolling hills and wooded valleys. Given the winter weather it was doubly an excellent walk with a stop for lunch at the White Bear at Fickleshole – well worth a stop for lunch whether you are walking or not!
If you are keen to follow in the footsteps of the Day Walking Group good parking can be had at Ashmore Lane public Car Park, Leaves Green, near Biggin Hill just off the A233. You will need OS Explorers Maps, 146, 147 and 161. Various routes can be plotted between the car Park and Fickleshole.
