Knole day walking group set out from Lullingstone Visitor Centre on another of the exceptionally mild February days we have been experiencing. The group of thirteen set out walking up from the car park into the woods. After a while they came to the zip wire and it was suggested this might be one way of avoiding muddy boots. As you will see our organiser, Janet, decided to see if this was a practical solution!
Having left Lullingstone park the group walked along the paths in the hills above Shoreham before descending into Otford for lunch. After a pleasant lunch at the Hospice of Hope tearooms and charity shop we began the return leg of our walk. Our route took us along the Darenth Valley Path from Otford. We then continued past the lavender fields to the start at the Lullingstone Visitor Centre. Our arrival back coinciding with the start of the rain. The walk was 10 miles in length.
