The Sevenoaks Society is mounting a heritage exhibition in the Kaleidoscope Gallery in Sevenoaks Library as part of the Summer Festival. The Exhibition will depict with photographs and text, the history of the town, including its heritage buildings, farms, schools, pubs, churches, industry and open spaces.
An accompanying book, Sevenoaks: A Remarkable Town, relates the 900 year old tale of Sevenoaks through its heritage buildings, artefacts and iconic landmarks such as the Vine cricket ground, Knole and the old landed estates, farms, public houses, schools, churches and the Town’s expansion following the arrival of the railway are all covered. The book is fully illustrated with photographs and paintings.
The book will be on sale in the Sevenoaks Library, Kaleidoscope Gallery during the period of the exhibition from 19th June to 6th July at a special discount price of £10. All proceeds go to the Sevenoaks Society. Copies will also be available in the Sevenoaks Bookshop and the Café at the Bat and Ball Station for £14.95.
