Knole U3A run a number of Study Groups which we have grouped under the heading of "Outdoor activities". Members can click on the names of the Groups to find out more when logged in.
Amblers/Walking - Amblers walk 3 to 4 miles ; there are two groups meeting 2nd Monday morning and 4th Thursday. Half day walks are 4 to 5 miles; there are four groups meeting 1st Thursday morning, 2nd Monday morning, 3rd Thursday morning and 2nd Thursday morning. Day walkers walk about 10 miles mostly with a pub lunch, one group meeting 3rd Monday. Strollers have a gentle flat walk of approximately 2 to 3 miles meeting 1st Monday. Those with dogs might enjoy a recently formed group Walking with Dogs, who meet on the 1st Friday of the month, and occasionally on Saturday.
Bird Watching - This group visits nature reserves and other areas, mostly half day but some longer trips. 2nd Friday.
Botany - Interested in finding and the botanical identification of wild and naturalised plants in Kent? This is the group for you. Members will learn how to confidently identify and record plants. This will be a very practical group with meetings outside in small groups and visiting a range of sites in our area. Some of the early preparatory meetings will be via Zoom. Advice will be given how to start recording plants using nationally agreed botanical standards.
Cycling/Rusty Riders - This group rides on cycle paths and quiet country lanes covering distances of up to 15 miles. All abilities are welcome. 4th Friday.
Garden Group - Group members share a love of beautiful gardens and visit various gardens or nurseries in the area. 4th Tuesday afternoon.
Golf - This group plays on different courses around the county. 3rd Wednesday mornings in winter and afternoons in summer.
Map Reading - This is a four week course. One theoretical and three practical sessions. Date and time to suit participants.
Table Tennis - Table tennis is fun, helps you keep fit and keeps your brain active! Every Wednesday morning.
